On the road to Champaign, IL

Don't see many drive-ins in Oregon so had to stop for a couple pics. Wish I could've stays for the movie that night, the Dark Knight Returns.

Our stomachs weren't feeling so good after lunch here. This is where we swear off fast food for this trip.

On the rebound from lunch we got a couple ears of corn and a few tomatoes from this farmer. He was having a hard time with the heat killing half his crops this year. I've never had sweet corn before. I like it.

Not sure what's on tv.

Columbus, OH

Stayed with a friend/author of Amy's. She pointed us toward this memorial of corn the day we left.

Gibsonia, PA with Richie Lokay

Part of the backyard to Richie's parents house. Thanks Deb and Rich, everything was great. I think I like the breakfast area the best of all your sitting areas.

This was the Randy House. We passed by it on the way to the Mattress Factory, a contemporary art museum.

Speaking of the Mattress Factory.

Petting zoo, carousel, laser tag, mini golf, ice cream parlor, TRex, carnival houses, RVs, and circus boards are all part of Dr.Doolittles Roadside Cafe.

Nittany Budget Motel

Cool little motel just outside the city. Continental breakfast at your door!

Brewsky's Bottle Shop adjacent to the office was just a bonus.

Teriyaki seared tenderloin from Gigis Restaurant next door. Fancy.

Waiting out the storm

We tried to make it to make it to Pittsburgh but were forced to find shelter at State College.

Riding to Gibsonia, PA

Pit stop. The plan was to ride to just outside of Pittsburgh that morning but were stopped by some rain. We managed to make it half way to State College, PA

I'm fine with wussin' out in a storm like this.

We got a break in the rain and made a run for it.

Camping at Delaware River Family Campground

Kind of expensive for camping. But if you want tv, a swimming pool, general store, permanent rv sites, and no swimming in the river it might be the place for you. Perhaps no more "Family" campgrounds for us. I'll admit, the shower was nice even if it was coin operated.

Spotted in New Haven, CT

Hmmm...

New Haven, CT

Louis Lunch, Est. 1895. Recommended by some employees at a local motorcycle shop.

Claim to fame, supposed creator of the hamburger. I'm sure there are many disputes over that.

Fire grilled burger with onions, tomatoes, plain French bread, and NO Ketchup. It's not even an option there and the motorcycle shop guys said they've been known to kick people out who've asked for the condiment. Personally, I liked the potato salad more.

Vertical grill

Carving ones name into any wood available is another tradition they've kept.

When in Rome.
