Obligatory stop. Last time I was here I puked in the parking lot which was the start of a case of food poisoning. It wasn't here, but word from the wise, don't eat the buffet while on the road.

Okay

 

Just a whole lot of this for most of the day.

Lake Thompson, SD

So we decided to camp at Lake Thompson. A nice little national park where we were the only ones in the tent area.

 

After setting up camp I went to grab firewood and saw these clouds.

 

Like big fluffy marshmellows.

 

Then this happened.

 

So we took shelter in the bathroom.

 

 

And came back to this. We totally expected the tents to be gone but they held their ground.

 

We ended up packing our things and moving to a motel to dry off.

Stop at Ryan and Courtney's

Stopped at our friends Ryan and Courtney who just bought a house in Madison, WI. First night was beers and dinner. Much needed after a time on the road.

 

 

 

The next night was moonlight canoe rides and sparklers. We were trying to meet up with a bigger group which supposedly had a campfire on the lake in a boat but we were late and didn't know they had put in on the other end of the lake. I liked our spot better anyways. Food, fireworks and friends.
